Alice Kellett Nottingham Artist

My Story

My passion for creating art started as a child. Luckily I had parents that didn’t mind me using my bedroom as an art studio where cleaning paint off the carpets was a regular occurrence. I also had a Grandad who took time to teach me drawing and painting skills from a young age.

It was the obvious subject for me to pursue at University where I graduated with a BA Hons from Loughboroguh University in Fine Art. I continued my passion for creativity into a career as a Primary School teacher until starting a family and a change in my personal circumstances became a pivotal moment in my life. I decided to leave my school career and pursue my desire to be a professional artist alongside bringing up my family.

I now have a gorgeous husband who supports my art career any way that he can and three wonderful children who keep me very busy. I develop my practise as an artist in my home studio in Nottingham and combine my love for art and teaching by running art workshops for children and grownups.

From initially painting vintage VW Campervans, to painting treasured places, and to now painting my family enjoying adventures in nature, I’ve always painted from the heart. My work reflects my determination to put family life first and share adventures with them, whether that be at the local nature reserve, river or on our trips to the coast. Life is for living and the older I get, the more I realise we need to slow down, cut through the chaos, prioritise calm and focus on the simple moments in life.

I am incredibly grateful for the collectors I have here in the UK and all around the world, from Australia to the USA and all across Europe. If my heart can touch yours through my artwork then I am happy and content.

Thank you for being here and choosing my artwork for your home. Alice xx
